MEMBERS ONLY SHOOTING RANGE | HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA
Five Ways to Shoot. One Range.
Every range at Hobbs Island Shooting Range is engineered with safety and serious shooting in mind — from your first 25-yard session to a 380-yard precision run.
⍟ 25-50 Yard
Short Range Lanes
20+ lanes built for focused short-range work — individual benches, fans on every lane, and Wi-Fi so you can run a timer app or follow a training program while you shoot.
Included in all membership tiers at no additional charge. No steel or hard targets are allowed. Guest fees apply. During peak hours, groups may be asked to share lane access to keep things moving for everyone.
⍟ 100-380 Yard
Long Range Lanes
Five 100-yard lanes and 13 dedicated long-range lanes. Steel is allowed on the longer range, but must be set at least 100 yards from the firing line. If you're dialing in a new optic, working on your precision rifle, or want to stretch out past what most Alabama ranges allow — this is where you do it.
Individual benches, fans, and Wi-Fi on every lane. Included in all membership tiers at no additional charge.
⍟ Pistol & Carbine
Action Bays
Most ranges make you stand still. The Action Bays don't. Move and shoot, draw from the holster, and run drills that actually transfer to real-world use of your firearm — the skills you can't practice at a static lane.
All membership tiers have access. Access and reservation fees vary by tier. Guests shoot free when accompanied by a member. Reservations strongly recommended during peak hours.
⍟ Indoor Training & Conference Room
Need a space to teach or train? Our air-conditioned classroom holds up to 50 people and is set up for serious instruction — 75" display, full Wi-Fi, and a conference table that seats 16 in adjustable leather chairs.
Indoor restrooms and basic kitchen facilities included. Catering available at additional cost. HISR membership is not required to book — rates available on request.
⍟ Steel Target Park
The Steel Park is where you find out where you actually stand — reactive feedback that no paper target will ever give you. Built for competitors prepping for a match, professionals training for law enforcement or armed security, and anyone serious enough to want honest feedback on every shot.
Over $12,000 in steel targets and training mannequins. Access and fees vary by tier. We recommend seeking training before your first Steel Park session — reach out to the Range Office if you'd like guidance.

HERE’S OUR RANGE RULES
Know and follow all the rules of the Shooting Range.
Listen and do what the Range Master tells you to do. The range master will direct all fire / cease fire actions and enforce all other rules of the range.
Always treat the gun as if it is loaded.
Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. Downrange would be best!
Always keep the gun on safe until you intend to shoot.
Always KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER, and outside the trigger guard, until ready to fire or until the command “Commence firing” has been given.
Always KEEP THE ACTION OPEN AND FIREARM UNLOADED UNTIL READY TO USE.
Never point the gun at anything you don’t intend to destroy.
Be sure of the target and what is beyond it.
Know the mechanical and handling characteristics of the gun you are using.
Always use proper ammunition.
Every member and guest is expected to know these rules before stepping on the range and follow them without exception.
If you have questions, ask a Range Master before you load up.
Shoot only at authorized targets. Never shoot at water or hard surfaces.
Be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions before loading and shooting.
Unload, open the action, remove the magazine and ground and/or bench all firearms during a cease fire.
Do NOT handle any firearm or stand at the firing line where firearms are present while others are down range.
Always keep the muzzle pointed at the backstop, bullet trap, or berm. Never allow the muzzle to point in any direction whereby an inadvertent discharge would allow the escape of a projectile into an outer area.
If your gun fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, hold your shooting position for several seconds; then, with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, carefully unload the gun.
Don’t rely on the gun’s safety to keep it from firing.
Be aware of your surroundings when handling guns. You don’t want to trip or lose your balance and accidentally point and / or fire the gun at anyone or anything.
